Robin
Donohoe Dennison has 30 years of experience in critical care nursing, working as a staff nurse, nurse educator, clinical nurse specialist, consultant, and professor.
Dr. Dennison’s educational background includes AA in nursing from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston) in Charleston, WV, BSN from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, MSN in Cardiopulmonary Nursing from University of Delaware in Newark, DE, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. She was certified as a CCRN for 15 years and is currently certified as a CCNS by the AACN Certification Corporation.
Robin started her own company in 1984 and has been the President of Robin Dennison Presents, Inc. since then. She teaches continuing education programs, especially CCRN certification reviews, for hospitals, universities, and nursing associations throughout the country.
Participant evaluations consistently rate her programs as excellent. She presents difficult concepts in an easy to understand and humorous manner.
Robin is also Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing at the College of Nursing, University of Cincinnati (www.nursing.uc.edu). She is the Director of the Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Educator program and the Director of the Doctorate in Nursing Practice program which is currently in development.
Robin is a frequent contributor to nursing journals and books. She is the author of the book Pass CCRN! first published by Mosby in 1996. The second edition of Pass CCRN! was published in 2000 and selected as an AJN Book of the Year. The third edition of Pass CCRN! was published in May 2007. Her most recent journal publications have been related to intravenous medication safety and professional portfolios.
Robin lives near Lexington, KY, with her husband Russell, a physician, and their Labrador retrievers. Her hobbies include rose gardening, bird watching, and reading.
